Description

NIST’s Inorganic Chemical Metrology Group is conducting market research to identify vendors that can supply a graphite furnace atomic absorption spectrometer (GFAAS) meeting specific performance criteria. The instrument must detect copper at an instrument detection limit of 0.02 µg/L using a 324.8 nm line with a 50 µL sample volume, and it should allow direct solid‑sample introduction without digestion. Vendors are asked to provide product specifications, pricing, warranty terms, and compliance information. This is a Sources Sought notice, not a solicitation for a contract award. • Required detection limit: DL ≤ 0.02 µg/L for Cu (324.8 nm, 50 µL sample). • Must support direct solid‑sample analysis (no digestion required). • Responders must submit company summary, product details, pricing, and compliance information by 28 Nov 2026.

Budget estimate

$20,000 – $50,000

This is a market‑research (Sources Sought) notice, not a contract award, so no direct payment is specified. However, the eventual procurement of a GFAAS system typically ranges from $20 k to $50 k for a high‑performance unit, so the client could anticipate a potential award in that ballpark if they win the subsequent solicitation.
