WHJPA Canopy Restoration

The West Haymarket Joint Public Agency is seeking bids from qualified companies for the renovation and new construction services of the decorative steel train canopy located along Canopy Street, between N Street and R Street, in the West Haymarket District of Lincoln, NE. The project scope includes repair and replacement work to be performed on the canopy, including removing and replacing concrete, sandblasting, and painting. The vendor shall include all costs associated with labor, supervision, materials, supplies, permits, and licenses required to perform the services. The contract will be awarded to the lowest, responsible, responsive vendor whose bid substantially meets all the required specifications. Key aspects of the project include: • Removing and replacing concrete "diamond" and existing control joint sealant • Sandblasting and painting the canopy • Replacing broken glass panels with matching glass panels with wire mesh integrated in glass • Scrape loose paint and inspect all fascia and crown molding for loose fasteners, rotten wood, or missing wood • Replace deficient sections of fascia and crown molding with millwork of matching profiles The project is expected to be completed by August 14, 2026, with a final completion date of 30 calendar days after substantial completion.
