Request for Information for Laser Warning Receiver (LWR)

The US Army is seeking information from potential vendors for the production of a Laser Warning Receiver (LWR) system. The LWR is a survivability sensor for ground combat vehicles, and the contract could be for the production of up to 4,000 kits. The system must meet certain technical requirements, including the ability to detect and declare laser threats, store threat data, and provide a 360-degree field of view. The contract is expected to be awarded in FY26, and the production lead time after quality acceptance could be up to 12 months. • The LWR system must be able to detect and declare laser threats by classification: Laser Range Finder (LRF), Laser Target Designator (LTD), or Laser Beam Rider (LBR). • The system must be able to store threat data, including the type of threat, pulse repetition interval (PRI), angle of arrival (AoA), and GPS time. • The system must be able to provide a 360-degree field of view, using multiple sensor heads if necessary. • The system must meet certain technical requirements, including the use of Gigabit Ethernet (IEEE 802.3) for non-deterministic messages and deterministic Ethernet (IEEE 802.1 AVB/TSN) for deterministic messages. • The system must be able to operate continuously without failure for a period of at least 72 hours.
