Description

The City of Pittsburgh is seeking bids for the upgrade of the water treatment systems at Moore Pool. The project includes the replacement of the filtration system, conversion from gas chlorine to a tablet-based chlorination system, and installation of a balancing tank integrated with the existing gutter-based circulation system. The improvements are intended to improve water quality, enhance safety, and support reliable pool operations. The scope of work includes the installation of a commercial-grade pressure sand filtration system, a new pool circulation pump, a balancing tank, and a chemical automation system. The contractor will be responsible for furnishing and installing all required equipment, piping, valves, and appurtenances, as well as performing start-up, testing, and commissioning of the systems. • The project requires the installation of a filtration system with a minimum total effective filter area of 98 square feet and a minimum filter media loading rate of 15 gallons per minute per square foot. • The project requires the installation of a pool circulation pump that can deliver a minimum continuous flow of 1,475 GPM. • The project requires the installation of a balancing tank that can provide sufficient surge capacity to stabilize pool water levels during normal operation and peak bather conditions. • The project requires the installation of a chemical automation system that can monitor and regulate chlorine and pH levels. • The contractor will be required to provide all necessary documentation, including manufacturer data sheets, operation and maintenance manuals, and warranty information. • The contractor will be required to provide training to City staff on the operation and maintenance of the new systems.
