Intent to Sole Source Jimmy Carter HPAC

The Puget Sound Naval Shipyard and Intermediate Maintenance Facility (PSNS & IMF) intends to award a sole-source firm fixed price contract to Rix Industries for the overhaul of No. 1 and No. 2 High Pressure Air Compressors (HPAC) and shipboard testing. The contractor will perform shipboard work in the engine room to accomplish the overhaul and complete shipboard testing on No. 1 and No. 2 HPACs in accordance with OEM specifications. The period of performance is estimated to be from 01/07/26 to 01/28/26. The contractor will provide all necessary materials, travel, and technical representatives to perform the required overhaul. Some key requirements of the contract include: • Compliance with the work authorization and tag-out requirements • Ensuring all work on ship's systems and components is properly authorized and controlled • Reviewing the Work Authorization Form (WAF) with Ship's Force (SF) to ensure understanding of authorized work areas • Ensuring the isolation, de-energizing, drainage of the isolated and depressurization of mechanical, electrical, electronics and pressure system is accomplished • Submitting changes to isolation or work boundaries to SF upon completion of production work • Providing deliverables as described in the Statement of Work (SOW) and as outlined in the Contract Data Requirements List (CDRL)
