Individual Water Treatment Device (IWTD) for Reduction/Removal of Toxic Industrial Chemicals and Materials

The U.S. Army Combat Capabilities Development Command (DEVCOM) Soldier Center is conducting a market investigation (Sources Sought RFI) to identify individual water treatment technologies capable of reducing or removing toxic industrial chemicals (TICs) and toxic industrial materials (TIMs) from fresh water sources for soldier use. Respondents are asked to provide product details, technical data, cost information, and compliance with the Buy American Act, and optionally a physical sample. The solicitation outlines performance requirements such as ≤12 oz weight, ≥135 L operational life, temperature resilience (‑33 °C to 52 °C), treat‑to‑drink time ≤20 min, flow ≥200 mL/min, and microbiological reduction targets (optional). All responses must be emailed to designated Army points of contact by the deadline. • Target contaminants and performance criteria are defined in an attached “Toxic Industrial Chemical/Material Military Exposure Guideline.” • Submissions must include technical literature, cost data, company size/socio‑economic status, CAGE code, NAICS code, and optionally a GSA schedule number. • The RFI is informational only; it does not constitute a procurement commitment and will not result in a contract award at this stage.
