Collection and Disposal of Solid Waste

The City of South Lyon is seeking proposals for the collection and disposal of solid waste, including refuse, recyclables, yard waste, and other services. The selected contractor will be responsible for providing these services to approximately 4,066 households in the City. The contract will be for a period of five years, with an option to renew for an additional three years. The contractor will be required to provide a single point of contact, maintain all necessary licenses and insurance, and comply with all applicable laws and regulations. The City reserves the right to reject any or all proposals and to negotiate the terms of the contract with the selected contractor. Key services to be provided include: • Weekly curbside collection of refuse, recyclables, and yard waste • Collection of bulky items and special waste services • Education program for residents on the new collection services • Provision of replacement carts or bins damaged by the contractor • Submission of monthly reports on the volume of deliveries made to the facility The City is looking for a contractor that can provide reliable, efficient, and cost-effective services, while also maintaining a strong working relationship with the City and its residents.
