Artemis III Alternate Comm System (RFI)

The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) is seeking information from commercial providers on support for the Artemis III mission, specifically for a secondary communications system to augment the primary communication system of the Orion crew vehicle. The system should provide near continuous communication with a return link of at least 12 Mbps and support live 4K imagery during rendezvous and docking operations. Respondents are invited to submit end-to-end system concepts, including system terminal parameters, space-relay architecture parameters, and end-to-end parameters. • The system should provide near continuous communication with a return link of at least 12 Mbps. • The system should support live 4K imagery during rendezvous and docking operations. • The system should be easy to integrate into the Orion vehicle, with a short timeline for delivery and implementation. • The system should provide a broad field of regard or steerable antenna/aperture. • The system should have a data interface of Ethernet, hardware control and telemetry interface of Ethernet, and power interface of 28 VDC, < 90W max.
