The Community Food Projects Competitive Grant Program (CFPCGP) provides funding for two types of projects: Planning Projects (PP) and Community Food Projects (CFP). The purpose of the CFPCGP is to support community-based projects that address food and nutrition security, particularly in low-income communities. The program aims to promote comprehensive responses to local food access, farm, and nutrition issues, and to increase the self-reliance of communities in providing for their food needs.
• Eligible applicants include public food program service providers, tribal organizations, and private nonprofit entities.
• The program provides funding for up to 48 months, with a minimum request of $25,000 and a maximum request of $400,000.
• Applicants must provide a dollar-for-dollar match for all federal funds requested.
• The program encourages projects that serve underrepresented communities, such as tribal communities, communities of color, women, LGBTQIA+ communities, individuals with disabilities, veterans, rural and remote communities, insular areas, or communities with residents predominantly living under the Federal poverty line.
