Acquisition of a Level D 747-8i Full Motion Simulator

The United States Air Force is seeking information from qualified vendors capable of providing a new, Level D certified, Full Motion Simulator for the 747-8i aircraft. The simulator must meet all applicable regulatory requirements and provide realistic and immersive training for pilots transitioning to, or maintaining currency, in the 747-8i aircraft. The simulator should be a new build, not a refurbished or an upgraded existing system. Key features and capabilities of the simulator include a six-degree-of-freedom motion platform, aerodynamic modeling and performance data, a high-resolution visual system, realistic audio cues, and an accurate replica of the 747-8i cockpit. • The simulator must meet and maintain FAA Level D requirements. • The simulator should include an instructor operating station with scenario management, weather/time of day control, and student performance monitoring and data recording capabilities. • The vendor must provide comprehensive support and maintenance, including on-site maintenance and repair services, spare parts, software updates, and technical documentation and training. • The vendor must also provide initial training for pilots, instructors, and maintenance personnel. • The simulator will be located in a secure facility, and personnel involved in the development, installation, and maintenance will require a Top Secret security clearance, with potential for Yankee White access.
