Description

The Indian Health Service (IHS) is seeking a contractor to develop a comprehensive, scalable Pain Neuroscience Education (PNE) curriculum and train-the-trainer program designed for American Indian and Alaska Native (AI/AN) youth and adults. The curriculum must be evidence-based, grounded in contemporary pain neuroscience, and integrate culturally responsive approaches and traditional practices. The contractor will be required to develop curriculum and training materials, conduct community engagement and co-design, provide training delivery, and conduct evaluation and reporting. The project will be primarily virtual with possible limited on-site support at one selected IHS Area/site. Key aspects of the project include: • Developing a comprehensive, scalable PNE curriculum and train-the-trainer program • Conducting community engagement and co-design with AI/AN communities • Providing training delivery to approximately 20 AI/AN providers, CHRs, peer specialists, and/or school-based staff • Conducting evaluation and reporting, including developing pre/post evaluation tools and conducting a pilot implementation • Incorporating culturally responsive approaches and traditional practices into the curriculum • Supporting safe pain self-management and reducing reliance on high-risk treatments, including opioids.

Budget estimate

$500,000 – $2,000,000

The budget for this project is not explicitly stated in the document, but based on the scope of work and the fact that it is a comprehensive curriculum development and training program, it is likely to be a significant amount. The project requires the development of a comprehensive curriculum, training materials, and the provision of training to approximately 20 AI/AN providers, CHRs, peer specialists, and/or school-based staff. The budget may also depend on the level of expertise and experience of the contractor, as well as the complexity of the project. A possible estimate for the budget could be in the range of $500,000 to $2 million, considering the scope of work and the potential costs associated with developing a comprehensive curriculum and providing training. Factors that may influence the likely payment range include the level of expertise and experience of the contractor, the complexity of the project, and the number of personnel required to complete the project.
