Description

The City of League City is seeking bids for emergency generators to be used as back-up power sources for various locations within the city. The generators must be compatible with the city's existing infrastructure and meet certain specifications, including being able to operate under extreme heat and being backed by a comprehensive 5-year warranty. The city is looking for generators from manufacturers such as Cummins, CAT, and MTU, or equivalent. The contract will be awarded to the lowest reasonable and responsible bidder, and the city reserves the right to make a single award or multiple awards. Some key points to consider include: • The city is seeking four generators, one for each of the following locations: City Hall Annex, Civic Center, Public Works Operations Center, and Community Center • The generators must be able to operate under extreme heat, more than 110 °F • The city prefers generators that are backed by a national or worldwide distributor • The city will provide a new gas line and meter for each generator • The contractor will be responsible for connecting the generator to the gas line during installation • The city reserves the right to disqualify any bidder who attempts to alter or modify the specifications listed in the scope of work

Budget estimate

$500,000 – $2,000,000

The dollar amount range that the client might expect to earn if they win the bid is difficult to estimate without more information about the specific costs of the generators and the installation. However, based on the description of the opportunity, it appears that the city is seeking a comprehensive solution that includes the purchase and installation of four generators, as well as any necessary electrical work and testing. The cost of such a project could range from $500,000 to $2 million, depending on the specific requirements of the city and the bids submitted by contractors. Factors that may influence the likely payment range include: • The cost of the generators themselves, which could range from $50,000 to $200,000 each, depending on the manufacturer and model • The cost of installation, which could range from $20,000 to $100,000, depending on the complexity of the installation and the labor required • The cost of any necessary electrical work, which could range from $10,000 to $50,000, depending on the scope of the work required • The cost of testing and commissioning the generators, which could range from $5,000 to $20,000, depending on the complexity of the testing and the labor required
