On-call Elevator Services and Mtnc

The University of Maryland, College Park is seeking a qualified Elevator Contractor to perform maintenance, repairs, and component replacements on the University's Vertical Transportation Systems (VTS) units. The contractor will be responsible for maintaining the VTS systems in good operating condition, performing routine and periodic tests, and providing 24-hour call-back service. The contract will be used by the Department of Residential Facilities, Facilities Management, and the Stamp Student Union, and may be used by other campus departments and USM affiliates. The contractor must possess sufficient financial responsibility, technical ability, and personnel to maintain the types of VTS units existing at the University. • The contractor shall maintain the VTS systems located at the University in good operating condition by cleaning, adjusting, lubricating, repairing, rebuilding, or replacing systems, subsystems, and components as required. • The contractor shall provide 24-hour call-back service to repair and restore to safe operating condition any VTS unit at the University. • The contractor shall perform routine and periodic tests on all VTS units, including annual tests on hydraulic VTS units and five-year tests on all other VTS units. • The contractor shall provide a schedule of tests to the University's project manager and notify the University's project manager at least ten working days prior to the date of the test. • The contractor shall keep the public areas of the building free of construction materials and remove all debris and scraps from the site in a timely manner.
