Description
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is seeking a complete hardware and software solution for the Tower Simulation System (TSS) under the TSS E2 Challenge Based Acquisition. The TSS is used for air traffic controller training, and the FAA intends to deploy additional TSSs to training sites around the National Airspace System (NAS). The solution should provide high-fidelity simulation capability for the 264 towers in the NAS. The FAA is looking for innovative solutions that meet the objectives outlined in the Statement of Objectives (SOO).
Key aspects of the project include:
• Developing a visual database (VDB) and training scenarios for every ATCT
• Providing a complete hardware and software solution
• Meeting the objectives outlined in the SOO
• Providing high-fidelity simulation capability for the 264 towers in the NAS
• Deploying to 102 sites
• Completing the project by May 2028
