Street Improvements Project

The Town of Cary is seeking a qualified engineering firm to assist with the continuation and advancement of Cary's Street Improvements Program. The selected consultant will provide professional engineering services, including pavement condition surveys, design plans, construction administration, and contract management. The scope of work includes tasks such as conducting block-by-block pavement condition surveys, preparing construction bid documents, and providing construction administration and inspection services. The consultant will also be required to update Cary's curb ramp inventory and assist in evaluating and implementing cost-effective pavement maintenance strategies. Key aspects of the job include: • Conducting pavement condition surveys and collecting data on pavement distress types, physical characteristics, and maintenance needs • Preparing construction bid documents and providing construction administration and inspection services • Updating Cary's curb ramp inventory and assisting in evaluating and implementing cost-effective pavement maintenance strategies • Coordinating with public and private utilities, including Google Fiber • Facilitating specialty investigations (geotechnical, material testing) and recommending alternate materials or construction methods • Providing bid phase support, including addenda, bid opening, tabulation, and recommendation for award
