Description
The City of Salina is seeking qualified contractors to design‑build and install new concrete sidewalks, curbs, gutters, and pavement throughout several city parks, plus associated excavation, aggregate base, seeding/grass planting, traffic‑control measures, and construction staking. Four optional alternates (sidewalk repairs and median work) may be awarded separately. The work must be completed by early 2027 and is subject to standard municipal contract clauses, including performance bonds, insurance, liquidated damages, and a two‑year warranty.
• Core scope: new concrete sidewalks (4‑in. & 5‑in.), curb & gutter, reinforced concrete pavement, aggregate base, and seeding.
• Quantities: ~1,500 SY of sidewalks, ~563 SY of 6‑in. pavement, ~563 SY of aggregate base, plus excavation and removal items.
• Schedule: bids due May 21 2026; substantial completion by Jan 3 2027; final completion by Apr 1 2027; $300/day liquidated‑damage penalty.
• Requirements: 5 % bid security, performance & payment bonds, $1 M CGL, $1 M auto liability, workers’ comp, employer’s liability, and compliance with KDOT specifications.
