Explorer - Exail Gyro Urgentcy

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) intends to negotiate a sole source contract with Exail, Inc. for the procurement of two new, certified Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) Exail Pack Quadrans G2 IMO-grade Fiber Optic Gyrocompass & Attitude Reference Systems. These systems will serve as centralized fleet spare units to support rapid deployment across NOAA fleet vessels and minimize operational downtime in the event of primary equipment failure. The contract is expected to be awarded on a sole source basis due to Exail, Inc. being the sole manufacturer and proprietary rights holder of the Exail Quadrans G2 FOG system. • The systems must be compatible with existing fleet navigation architecture. • The systems must have a mean time between failure (MTBF) of 150,000 hours. • The systems must be delivered within 8 weeks after receipt of order. • The estimated value of the contract is $49,000.
