Description

The United States Forest Service (USFS) is seeking information regarding aerial seeding devices that can be integrated with approved USFS unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) for the purpose of aerial seeding in National Forests and Grasslands. The USFS is interested in systems that can seed in a predictable and controlled manner, with the ability to initiate seeding in a set pattern and rate, and to manipulate the results in real-time settings. The seeding device should be capable of starting and stopping aerial seeding operation remotely, and should be able to disperse multiple sizes and varieties of seeds. The USFS is also interested in systems that can be easily connected and disconnected from the UAS, and that have a user-friendly interface and controls. • The USFS is seeking information on seeding devices that can be integrated with the following UAS: Freefly Systems Alta X, Freefly Systems Astro, and Vision Aerial Switchblade. • The seeding device should be able to seed in a predictable and controlled manner, with the ability to initiate seeding in a set pattern and rate. • The device should be capable of starting and stopping aerial seeding operation remotely. • The device should be able to disperse multiple sizes and varieties of seeds. • The device should be easily connected and disconnected from the UAS. • The device should have a user-friendly interface and controls.

Budget estimate

$100,000 – $500,000

The budget for this opportunity is difficult to estimate, as the document does not provide information on the budget or the potential contract value. However, based on the complexity of the project and the requirements for the seeding device, it is likely that the budget will be in the range of $100,000 to $500,000. The budget will depend on the specific requirements of the USFS and the capabilities of the proposed seeding device. Factors that may influence the likely payment range include the cost of the seeding device, the cost of integrating the device with the UAS, and the cost of testing and evaluating the device.
