The City of Peachtree City is seeking a qualified firm to assist in creating a Unified Development Ordinance (UDO) that consolidates and updates all existing land-development–related ordinances. The selected firm will be responsible for developing a comprehensive UDO that is easy to read, search, and navigate, and that includes appropriate sections for definitions, use classifications, developmental and design standards, non-conformities, administration, compliance, subdivisions, and more. The UDO should also be based on rigorous public feedback and address emerging land use trends and the specific needs of the community. Some key components of the UDO include:
• Review and assessment of land use regulations
• Identification of deficiencies and inconsistencies
• Modernization of design standards
• Alignment with the Comprehensive Plan Update 2022
• Integration of codes into a user-friendly format
• Creation of an online web-based "smart code" version of the UDO
• Extensive use of graphics, illustrations, and tables
The City of Peachtree City is looking for a firm with experience in developing unified development ordinances, public participation and facilitation skills, and knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations. The selected firm will be expected to provide a written proposal that presents their qualifications and understanding of the work to be performed, and to participate in a competitive evaluation process.
