Description
The Shelby County Board of Education is seeking a qualified contractor to perform interior painting at Mitchell High School. The base scope covers the gymnasium, gym lobby, corridors, and locker‑room doors, with optional alternates for the cafeteria, main office lobby, library reading room, and student/restroom areas. Work includes surface preparation, low‑VOC primer and finish coats per substrate, removal and re‑installation of artwork and fixtures, and, for alternates, wood‑base staining and metal‑frame painting. The contract is firm‑fixed‑price, requires a 5 % bid bond, 100 % performance bond, extensive insurance, and a 50 % MWBE subcontracting goal. The schedule calls for a start around early December 2021, substantial completion by 30 May 2022, and final completion by 30 June 2022, with $1,000 per day liquidated damages for late completion.
