The National Park Service is providing a notice of intent to award a task agreement under a previously competed or single source master cooperative agreement for the Manhattan Project National Historical Park Cultural Landscapes project. The project aims to create a Cultural Landscape Report (CLR) for TA-18 of the Manhattan Project National Historical Park. The CLR will use data collected through the Cultural Landscapes Inventory (CLI) for TA-18 and archaeological surveys to complete a full historical context, inventory of resources, statement of significance, and condition assessment of all above-ground resources located within the cultural landscape boundary established by the NPS, the Department of Energy (DOE), and Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL).
Some key points of this project include:
• The project will create a Cultural Landscape Report (CLR) for TA-18 of the Manhattan Project National Historical Park.
• The CLR will use data collected through the Cultural Landscapes Inventory (CLI) for TA-18 and archaeological surveys.
• The project will complete a full historical context, inventory of resources, statement of significance, and condition assessment of all above-ground resources.
• The project will create a treatment plan for the landscape, buildings, and archaeological resources following the Secretary of the Interior’s Standards for the Treatment of Historic Properties.
• The project will promote greater public and private participation in historic preservation programs and activities and build resource ethics in participants.
