Youth Services

Pierce County is seeking proposals from qualified organizations to provide behavioral health services exclusively for youth and young adults ages 5-24. The County aims to fund programs that address behavioral health needs across the continuum of care, from prevention and early intervention to treatment and recovery. Services must not be reimbursable through Medicaid or private insurance and can be school or community-based. Proposers must demonstrate willingness to collaborate with local school districts across Pierce County. The initial contract period is expected to be 24 months, with the possibility of extension for an additional two years. Some key services include: • In-School Behavioral Health Services: Integrated behavioral health services delivered directly in schools to promote early identification, reduce stigma, and increase access to care. • Outpatient and Community-Based Behavioral Health Services: Accessible, youth-centered behavioral health care provided in outpatient and community settings. • Behavioral Health Peer Services: Youth peer services that empower youth through lived experience and peer-led recovery support. • Services for Justice-involved Youth and Young Adults: Trauma-informed Behavioral Health services to reduce recidivism and support rehabilitation. • Shelter and Housing Support Services: Address behavioral health needs of youth experiencing housing instability. • Wellness, Prevention, and Early Intervention: Services that promote mental wellness and prevent the onset or escalation of behavioral health conditions.
