Upper Waiko Road Sewer Extension and Waikapu Waterline Project

The County of Maui is seeking qualified contractors to design and construct a combined sewer extension and waterline upgrade in the Upper Waiko Road and Waikapu areas of Wailuku. The scope includes demolition of existing utilities, earthwork, trenching, installation of new sanitary sewer pipe, installation of new water mains and appurtenances, site restoration, and post‑construction grass planting and maintenance. The project also requires compliance with Hawaii’s environmental, safety, and labor residency requirements, submission of a bid bond (minimum 5 % of bid), and provision of all labor, materials, equipment, and supervision needed to complete the work. • Sewer extension: new sanitary pipe, manholes, CCTV inspection, cleaning, and backfill. • Waterline project: ductile‑iron water mains, valves, fire hydrants, poly‑wrap protection, hydro‑testing, and chlorination. • Site work: demolition, grading, shoring, paving, clearing and grubbing, topsoil placement. • Landscaping: grass seeding/sprigging or hydro‑mulching, fertilization, irrigation, and 45‑day maintenance. • Mandatory documentation: bid bond, licensing certificates, safety & health plan, resident‑workforce compliance (≥80 % Hawaii residents).
