State Small Business Credit Initiative (SSBCI) Business Oregon Venture Direct Program

The State of Oregon, acting by and through the Oregon Business Development Department, is seeking proposals to deploy State Small Business Credit Initiative (SSBCI) capital through a direct venture capital program called the Business Oregon Venture Direct Program. The selected Proposer will form a new entity and operate as the general partner or managing member with Business Oregon as a limited partner or member. The new entity will invest SSBCI funds directly in Oregon firms consistent with the SSBCI program. Key aspects of the job include: • Co-investing alongside other lead venture capital investors to minimize negotiations and secure the minimum required 1:1 private financing match • Deploying SSBCI capital to co-invest in SSBCI-eligible companies • Establishing relationships with leading investors to ensure awareness of the investment vehicle and attract co-investors • Evaluating and selecting investment candidates, with Business Oregon staff reviewing potential investments to ensure they meet minimum eligibility requirements • Providing reports and data on investment activities in accordance with Treasury SSBCI guidelines
