The U.S. Embassy in Mozambique is announcing an open competition for past participants of U.S. government-funded and sponsored exchange programs to submit applications for the 2026 Alumni Engagement Innovation Fund. The fund aims to commemorate America's 250th anniversary and highlight the United States' commitment to a safer, stronger, and more prosperous nation. Project initiatives should focus on economic growth, mutual trade benefits, and promotion of shared interests between the United States and Mozambique in areas such as business, technology, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, agriculture, critical minerals, education, and arts and culture.
Key aspects of the project include:
• Project teams must include at least two alumni of U.S. government-funded or sponsored exchange programs.
• Alumni who are U.S. citizens may not submit proposals, but U.S. citizen alumni may participate as team members in a project.
• Applications must be submitted by exchange alumni or alumni associations of USG exchange alumni.
• The grant can be issued to the individual alumni or the partner organization; however, the project must be led by the U.S. Government alumni.
