IRFP No. 902656 Doula Support Services for the Beloved Birth Black Centering Group Prenatal Care Program

The Alameda County Public Health Department (ACPHD) is seeking a contractor to provide doula support services for the Beloved Birth Black Centering Group Prenatal Care Program. The program aims to reduce negative perinatal health outcomes resulting from racism and ensure that Black-identifying pregnant people are supported and empowered to make decisions about their bodies and care. The contractor will be responsible for managing the Medi-Cal Doula programming component, providing culturally congruent and community-based doula care to participants, and ensuring that all doulas are registered with the Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) and compliant with HIPAA regulations. The contractor will also be responsible for tracking service delivery metrics, submitting quarterly reports, and participating in program evaluation efforts. Some key requirements for the contractor include: * Having at least three years of experience in managing and providing administrative and organizational support for doulas * Having experience working with vulnerable populations, including adolescents to advanced maternal age * Having managerial capacity and documented experience in providing administrative and organizational support for participating doulas * Having access to the DHCS PAVE Provider Portal and at least one year of experience using it * Being led by individuals reflective of the cultures and identities of the client groups served by this programming * Having experience supporting, matching, and managing newly trained and experienced doulas to provide services for Beloved Birth clients * Having knowledge of best practices for providing culturally responsive doula training and services to African American/Black-identifying community members and clients * Having awareness of disparities in accessing quality care and perinatal outcomes due to racism affecting Black-identifying pregnant clients and families
