The Department of Social Services, Children’s Division, is seeking an array of services to enhance the ability of older youth who have experienced out-of-home placement to learn and practice the necessary skills to successfully transition into adult living. The Transitional Living Program provides services, which are different from the services provided under the residential program, with a focus on life skills teaching while providing housing. The program is divided into regions, and the Department of Social Services, Children’s Division, anticipates the funds to be divided per region. The contractor shall provide Transitional Living Program services in the awarded region(s) as specified in the Notice of Award, including Pre-Transitional Living Group Homes, Transitional Living Group Homes, and Transitional Living Single/Scattered Site Apartments. The contractor shall serve youth who present a variety of behaviors and provide units for youth with disabilities.
Some key points to consider:
• The program provides life skills teaching and housing to older youth.
• The contractor must provide services in a community setting on behalf of the Department of Social Services, Children’s Division.
• The contractor must serve youth with a variety of behaviors and provide units for youth with disabilities.
• The contractor must provide accommodations for youth with service animals and emotional support animals.
• The contractor must not charge a pet deposit fee, pet fee, or extra rent for a service or emotional support animal.
