Sidewalk Program

The City of Richmond is seeking bids for the construction of sidewalks as part of its FY 26 CIP Sidewalks program. The program aims to improve pedestrian access and safety throughout the city. The scope of work includes mobilization, maintenance of traffic, street closures, sidewalk construction, demolition and replacement of existing sidewalks, installation of new wheelchair ramps, and other related work. The city intends to award multiple contracts to ensure timely completion of the work. • The project involves constructing new sidewalks, removing and replacing existing sidewalks, and installing new wheelchair ramps. • The contractor will be responsible for maintaining traffic flow and ensuring pedestrian safety during construction. • The city will provide specifications and standards for the work, and the contractor must comply with all applicable laws and regulations. • The project is expected to take 365 days to complete, with the possibility of three one-year renewals. • The city reserves the right to add or delete locations from the contractor's list as directed by the engineer.
