The South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT), on behalf of Horry County, is seeking qualified engineering consulting firms to develop and deliver comprehensive design services for the US 17 Bus. (Kings Hwy) corridor improvement project. The scope includes traffic engineering studies, preliminary roadway design, right‑of‑way (ROW) planning, and the production of final construction‑ready roadway plans. Contractors will collaborate closely with SCDOT staff to meet project milestones and deliver detailed engineering documents for construction bidding. • Conduct traffic analyses and recommend improvements for safety and capacity. • Produce preliminary roadway alignment, grading, and structural designs. • Develop comprehensive ROW plans, including easement identification and acquisition support. • Deliver final construction documents (plans, specifications, and cost estimates) for the US 17 Bus corridor stretch between Farrow Parkway and 31st Ave North. • Coordinate with SCDOT project managers to ensure compliance with state standards and timely delivery of all design phases.
