BRIC Phase 1

The County of Santa Cruz is seeking a consultant to provide comprehensive wildfire risk reduction project development and environmental compliance documentation for roadside fuel reduction work along approximately 52 miles of County-maintained roads. The project is funded by a FEMA Building Resilient Infrastructure and Communities (BRIC) grant. The selected consultant will work with the County to define and refine project areas and treatment concepts, conduct desktop reviews and site visits, and develop roadside fuel reduction treatment descriptions. The consultant will also identify applicable regulatory agencies and approvals, advise on potential CEQA exemptions or streamlining tools, and prepare a CalVTP Project-Specific Analysis (PSA) document. • The project includes six original BRIC Phase 1 project areas with sensitive habitats and rural development patterns. • The consultant will develop a final implementation work plan that includes a contractor-ready scope of work and a schedule. • The County's budget for this project will not exceed $300,000.00. • The estimated period of performance will be from March 15, 2026 – March 15, 2027.
