The City of Hartford is seeking a qualified contractor to demolish a former restaurant/service‑station complex and remediate environmental hazards on three parcels (588 Franklin Ave, 596 Franklin Ave, and 80 Goodrich St). The work includes hazardous‑material abatement (asbestos, lead, underground storage tanks, soil contamination), complete structural demolition, and site preparation for a future mixed‑use development. Funding of $600,000 is pledged from a DECD Urban Action Grant, and the contract will require a 10 % bid bond and performance/payment bonds for awards over $50,000, along with extensive insurance and MWBE utilization requirements.
