BUILDING REPURPOSING OF MARY CHENEY LIBRARY

The Town of Manchester is seeking proposals to repurpose the former Mary Cheney Library building into a new use or uses. The new user will commit to repurposing the interior of the building and taking responsibility for future occupation and maintenance. The Town seeks a qualified entity to either purchase the building outright or enter into a long-term lease of the property and repurpose it into a use or uses that are compatible with the Town’s goals and objectives. Some key points to consider: • The proposal should seek to preserve the historic architectural character of the building. • Any proposed changes to the building and site design should conform generally to the Downtown Manchester Architectural Design Guidelines. • The proposed use should have a connection to Downtown businesses and/or art and cultural events. • The Town is open to occupying a portion of the building for public use. • The proposal should include clear, detailed financial information on how the organization plans to implement and fund its proposed project.
