Belt Filter Press Electrical System Rebuild

The City of Toledo is seeking qualified contractors to rebuild the electrical systems of three belt filter presses (units 1, 3 and 5) at its Bay View Water Reclamation Facility. The work includes removing existing DC drive equipment, installing new AC drives (Allen‑Bradley PowerFlex VFDs), replacing all associated wiring, conduit, terminal boxes, and installing new safety and process switches. The contractor must also refurbish the PLC cabinets, provide as‑built documentation, and ensure compliance with prevailing‑wage, living‑wage, and Build America/Buy America regulations. • Replace DC belt‑drive systems with AC VFD drives and new motor‑gear assemblies. • Install new shielded wiring, conduit, terminal boxes, and safety/pressure switches per detailed specifications. • Restore, paint, and label PLC cabinets; provide testing, verification, and complete as‑built drawings. • Deliver all required City paperwork (project paperwork, annual paperwork, bid guaranty, BABA acknowledgment, tax exemption, etc.) and comply with labor‑law requirements.
