The Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking information from potential contractors for the supply, installation, configuration, and maintenance of CVI Injectors and related services for the Southern Arizona VA Medical Center. The contractor shall provide a CVI Injectors product, installation, configuration, validation, support, and maintenance services. The system must meet specific performance, safety, ergonomic, and operational requirements. The contractor shall also provide training, technical support, and maintenance services.
Some key features and requirements of the system include:
• Programmable flow rates between 0.8 mL/s and 40 mL/s
• Saline delivery at a controlled rate of 1.6 mL/s with automatic refill capability
• Contrast volume selection between 0.8 mL and 99.9 mL
• User-defined pressure limits between 200 psi and 1,200 psi
• Injection modes suitable for coronary, peripheral vascular, ventriculography, and microcatheter procedures
• Adjustable rise-time function from 0 to 1 second
• Keep-Vessel-Open mode capable of dispensing saline at 0.1–10 mL/min for a defined duration of up to 20 minutes
• Air detection mechanism that automatically stops injection upon detection of air in the fluid path
• Isolation manifold or equivalent mechanism to prevent backflow of blood into the contrast reservoir
• Real-time monitoring of inline pressure during injection
• Compliance with applicable electrical safety requirements for medical equipment
• Touchscreen user interface with a diagonal display size of approximately 10.5 inches
• Mounting on a procedure table or on a dedicated pedestal stand
• Pedestal footprint not exceeding approximately 53 cm × 63 cm, and height of approximately 91 cm
• Lightweight and easily maneuverable injection head and accessory arms
• Multi-use contrast reservoir capable of supporting multiple consecutive cases without reloading, with volume capacity of approximately 100 mL
• Real-time contrast usage metrics for each procedure
• Operation on hospital-grade power circuits at 100–120 VAC (50–60 Hz, 10 A) or 200–240 VAC (50–60 Hz, 5 A)
• Internal power conditioning suitable for cath lab environments
• Installation, calibration, and operator training
• Technical support and maintenance services in accordance with VA biomedical engineering guidelines
• Consumables (tubing sets, syringes, manifolds, etc.) that are commercially available and compatible with the system
• Minimum one-year warranty covering parts and labor
• Compatibility with standard cath lab environments, including temperature, humidity, and sterility conditions consistent with VA procedural suites
• Integration with commonly used x-ray/fluoroscopy systems and synchronization of injection with imaging acquisition
