Description
The City of Thornton is seeking qualified contractors to pre‑qualify for the Cherrywood Park playground rehabilitation construction phase. The scope includes demolition of existing playground equipment and surfacing, installation of new concrete curbs and stairs, drainage works, installation of new playground equipment (including specialty musical‑play elements), engineered wood‑fiber and poured‑in‑place safety surfacing, and associated site‑work such as fencing, staging, and tree protection. The pre‑qualification period ends May 22 2026; the city will later issue an Invitation for Bid to the five selected firms, with award based on the lowest responsive bid.
• Demolition, earthwork, drainage, and concrete curb/stage installation.
• Supply and installation of a full suite of modern playground equipment (swings, slides, zip‑line, musical instruments, shade structures).
• Installation of engineered wood‑fiber and PIP safety surfacing, plus landscaping (mulch, filler, retaining boulders).
• Strict compliance with ADA, ASTM, IPEMA, and City of Thornton construction standards; bonding, insurance, and safety record requirements.
