Low Profile Mast (LPM) and Component Industry Day

The U.S. Navy's Submarine Electromagnetic Systems Program Office (PMS 435) is hosting an Industry Day to brief interested parties on the Low Profile Mast (LPM) program. The LPM is a next-generation, modular, non-hull-penetrating optronic and photonic imaging sensor designed to provide submarines with high-definition visual imaging, infrared imaging, and Radio Frequency (RF) processing while minimizing radar and optical signatures. The Industry Day will provide an overview of the LPM program, including the Type 20 and Type 24 LPM functional and performance specifications, LPM Rotational Module (RM) functional and performance specifications, periscope technology progression, and program and acquisition strategy. • The LPM consists of four major components: Antenna Assembly (AA), Sensor Module (SM), Electronics Module (EM), and Rotational Module (RM). • The LPM RM is a cylinder at the bottom of the sensor assembly that rotates the heavy modules mounted above it. • The Navy is seeking information on industry's technical capabilities, manufacturing capacities, supply chain partnerships, and current and planned investments related to the LPM program. • The Industry Day will include a presentation, question and answer session, and one-on-one engagement sessions. • Companies interested in participating in the Industry Day must pre-register by June 12, 2026, and submit a response to the RFI questionnaire by June 30, 2026.
