Defensible Space and Home Hardening Services - Weber Creek

The County of El Dorado is establishing two Qualified Lists (QLs) for contractors to provide wildfire mitigation services in the Weber Creek area south of Placerville. One QL will cover defensible‑space creation (fuel‑breaks, vegetation removal, and site preparation) and the other will cover home‑hardening retrofits (fire‑rated roofing, windows, doors, vents, garage doors, gutters, siding, and related structural upgrades). Qualified firms will be placed on the QLs for up to three years (renewable annually after the initial term) and may be invited to bid on individual homesite projects, each awarded to the lowest responsible, responsive bidder. The work will be performed under a Master Services Agreement (3‑year term, extendable to 5 years) and a Tri‑Party Agreement with each homeowner. • Defensible‑Space: clear Zones 0‑2 around residences per CAL FIRE guidelines (vegetation removal, brush clearing, creation of 10‑ft clearances, etc.). • Home Hardening: install fire‑rated roofing, windows/doors, vents, garage doors, gutters, non‑combustible siding, and retrofit attachments; must meet 2025 California WUI Code (Title 24, Part 7). • Contracts are firm‑fixed‑price per homesite; the County will award each homesite to the lowest qualified bid after a one‑week bid‑development window following a site‑specific assessment.
