Description
The Department of Transportation and Public Facilities, Division of Statewide Public Facilities, is soliciting bids for dowels and baskets to be delivered to 5740 DeHavilland Avenue, Anchorage, AK 99502, to facilitate the reconstruction of Taxiway Q. The contract is for purchase and delivery only and does not include any labor associated with installation. The estimated budget for this contract is $170,000. The contractor will be required to deliver the listed parts, or state-approved equivalents, in the quantities specified. The contract term will be from the date of award until approximately July 15, 2026.
Key aspects of the job include:
• Providing dowels for concrete pavements, including dowel baskets where identified
• Ensuring dowel bars conform to ASTM A615 and are free from burring or other deformation
• Providing epoxy-coated dowel bars per ASTM A1078, Type 1, with a coating thickness after curing greater than 10 mils
• Ensuring dowel sleeves or inserts are not permitted
• Providing grout retention rings that are fully circular metal or plastic devices capable of supporting the dowel until the grout hardens
• Ensuring dowel basket assemblies are rigid metal-framed and epoxy-coated
