The U.S. Department of Transportation, John A. Volpe National Transportation Systems Center (Volpe Center), is seeking support for the development of the Aviation Environmental Design Tool (AEDT). The AEDT is a comprehensive suite of software tools that will allow for the assessment of the environmental effects of aviation. The Volpe Center requires a contractor to extract validation trajectory data for the continental US from the Performance Data Analysis and Reporting System (PDARS) using the SkyView software tool, which is proprietary to ATAC Corporation. The contractor will also provide updates to the AEDT’s handling of modernized air traffic control procedures.
The key aspects of this opportunity include:
• The development of the AEDT and its updates
• The extraction of validation trajectory data from PDARS using the SkyView software tool
• The provision of technical expertise and support to the FAA and the Volpe Center
• The completion of the updated tool and final report by September 2026
