Description

The Washington County Public Works department is soliciting bids for latex striping on various county highways and local streets within Washington County. The project includes striping on different locations, which will be determined via field survey prior to work beginning. The major quantities include mobilization, white and yellow high solids water-based traffic paint. The plans, specifications, and addenda are available at http://www.QuestCDN.com for a fee of $22. Bidders will pay an additional $42 fee to bid online on QuestCDN.com. Bids must be accompanied by a bid bond or a corporate surety bond made in favor of Washington County in an amount equal to not less than 5% of the total bid. Some key points to consider: • The project requires the submission of a Striper Operations Daily Form for work performed under this contract. • No payment for pavement markings will be made unless the form, or an approved equal, is completed per the requirements of Division S, Section S-25.5 and submitted to the Engineer in electronic format. • The project is open to all bidders, and Washington County does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex, religion, age, and handicapped status in employment or the provision of services in consideration for an award. • The Board of County Commissioners of Washington County reserves the right to reject any or all bids and waive any defects therein.

Budget estimate

$100,000 – $200,000

The budget for this project can be estimated based on the quantities of materials and services required. The major quantities include 3 units of mobilization, 4,500 gallons of white high solids water-based traffic paint, and 3,300 gallons of yellow high solids water-based traffic paint. Assuming an average cost of $5 per gallon for the paint and $10,000 per unit for mobilization, the total cost can be estimated as follows: (4,500 gallons x $5 per gallon) + (3,300 gallons x $5 per gallon) + (3 units x $10,000 per unit) = $22,500 + $16,500 + $30,000 = $69,000. However, this is a rough estimate and does not take into account other costs such as labor, equipment, and overhead. A more realistic estimate would be in the range of $100,000 to $200,000, considering the complexity of the project and the requirements for submission of a Striper Operations Daily Form. Therefore, the budget for this project can be estimated to be between $100,000 and $200,000.
