Description

The Department of the Navy is seeking information from vendors about autonomous systems to reduce the risk warfighters encounter. The systems should be able to meet certain requirements, such as weighing 45lbs or less, having a minimum battery life of 30 minutes, and being able to keep pace with a human. The systems should also be able to carry a certain weight, have safety features, and be able to operate in a contested environment. The Navy is looking for systems that can meet these requirements and is seeking information from vendors about their products. Some of the key requirements for the systems include: • Weight: 45lbs or less • Battery life: minimum of 30 minutes • Speed: able to keep pace with a human (between 2.5 and 4 mph) • Carrying capacity: able to carry a certain weight • Safety features: redundant safety features, such as visible LED lights or pull pins • Operating environment: able to operate in a contested environment The Navy is seeking information from vendors about their products and is looking for systems that can meet these requirements.

Budget estimate

$100,000 – $1,000,000

The budget for this opportunity is uncertain, as it is a Request for Information (RFI) and not a formal solicitation. However, based on the requirements and the fact that the Navy is seeking information from vendors, it is possible that the budget could be in the range of $100,000 to $1 million. This estimate is based on the fact that the Navy is looking for systems that can meet specific requirements, and the development and production of such systems could be costly. Additionally, the fact that the Navy is seeking information from vendors suggests that they may be looking to award a contract in the future, which could be worth a significant amount of money. Factors that could influence the likely payment range include the complexity of the systems being sought, the number of vendors that respond to the RFI, and the Navy's budget for the project.
