Description
The Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, Florida Forest Service is seeking sealed bids for the sale of timber. This salvage timber sale involves approximately 255 acres north of County Road 326 and west of Black Prong Road within the central part of the Cow Creek Wildfire area. The sale includes dead, dying, and green pine timber located in the Black Prong Tract of Goethe State Forest, in Levy County, Florida.
• The Primary area is approximately 227 acres in size and is designated for clearcut harvest.
• The Contingency area is approximately 28 acres in size and will continue to be monitored by the Forester-in-Charge to determine if additional harvesting in this area is required.
• Special care must be taken regarding waterbodies and red-cockaded woodpecker (RCW) cluster.
• The term of this agreement is twelve (12) months.
• Products include salvage pine pulpwood, salvage pine chip-n-saw, salvage pine sawtimber, and fuelwood.
