Ordnance Deformer - Alpena CRTC, MI

The US Air Force is seeking a quotation for the purchase and installation of an Ordnance Deformer at the Alpena Combat Readiness Training Center (CRTC) in Michigan. The Ordnance Deformer is a stationary electric unit that processes spent cartridges up to and including 20mm at a rate of 8,000 to 11,000 pounds per hour. The system includes an infeed conveyor, electric drive, infeed catch hopper, high-speed rotary drum grinder, hood, chute, and soft start. The discharge conveyor has an electronic drive, and the control panel and system integration are also included. The installation setup and training, as well as shipping, are also part of the requirement. Key points to consider: * The Ordnance Deformer must comply with DESR 6055.09 91-201, Edition 1, Change 1, February 23, 2024, paragraph V4.E5.18 and sub paragraphs. * The system must be capable of containing overpressure, fragment, and thermal hazards associated with a worst-case reaction involving a single live round of the most energetic cartridge that could be processed in the equipment. * The demilitarization processing equipment must be operated within the manufacturer's specifications and restricted only to the processing of expended .50-caliber and smaller cartridge casings. * The installation will follow guidance as specified in DoDM 4140.72.
