Showalter Road at Perini Avenue Intersection Improvements

The project involves reconfiguring the existing intersection of Showalter Road and Perini Avenue from a full movement to a right-in/right-out traffic pattern. The work includes reconstructing the existing concrete island, constructing a new concrete median on Perini Avenue, widening Showalter Road to provide a 350’ acceleration lane and 164’ taper section, reconstructing the curb on the southeast corner of the intersection, relocating approximately 264’ of traffic barrier, and constructing 77’ of new traffic barrier. Other items include grading for road widening, 2” mill and overlay, full depth paving, pavement markings, sign relocation, and traffic control. The project must be completed within 100 consecutive calendar days after receipt of the notice to proceed. Key features of the project include: • Reconfiguring the intersection to a right-in/right-out traffic pattern • Reconstructing the concrete island and constructing a new concrete median • Widening Showalter Road and reconstructing the curb • Relocating and constructing traffic barriers • Grading, paving, and installing pavement markings and signs • Implementing traffic control measures The project is expected to be completed by September 2026, with a proposed notice to proceed date in June 2026.
