City of Sparta - Idol Avenue Watermain Extension

The City of Sparta is seeking a contractor to extend the water‑main along Idol Avenue. The scope includes extensive site preparation, installation of ductile‑iron water mains, replacement of storm‑sewer culverts, trenchless crossing under State Highway 27, removal and reconstruction of existing pavement, and associated erosion‑control and well‑abandonment work. The project is scheduled for substantial completion by June 1 2027 with final completion by July 15 2027, and bids must be submitted electronically via Quest vBid by 10:00 AM CDT on 25 June 2026. • Install ~4,700 ft of 6‑in. and 8‑in. ductile‑iron water mains with fittings and appurtenances. • Replace existing 18‑in. and 30‑in. storm‑sewer culverts and construct two trenchless water‑main crossings under STH 27. • Remove existing asphalt on Idol Avenue, rebuild base aggregate and asphaltic concrete pavement, and provide erosion‑control/turf restoration. • Abandon two private wells and comply with Federal Davis‑Bacon wage rates, American Iron & Steel requirements, and Wisconsin DBR funding guidelines.
