The State of Nevada is seeking a responsible vendor to supply Economic Impact Study Services. The selected vendor will be required to provide an economic impact study using a methodology reliant upon fiscal data along with other relevant data sources. The study will act as the foundation for any impacts/statistics related to tourism, and will provide critical insights into topics such as statewide, rural, and county-level direct impacts, secondary impacts, travel industry gross domestic products, and more. The vendor will be required to compile and provide data to meet the format specified by the Division of Tourism, and will be expected to provide timely and accurate information. Some key tasks include: describing the economic benefits of travel and tourism throughout the State, showing impacts at the county, region, and legislative district level, accurately describing trends, breaking out findings by type of traveler and type of business, and analyzing gross product. The vendor will also be required to create and maintain a widely accessible website that allows users to access data on visitor spending, business earnings, and employment at the State, pre-defined region, and county level.
• The vendor will be required to provide a comprehensive narrative report, including an evaluation of the effort to date, to be presented to the Division of Tourism by way of an in-person presentation for each fiscal year.
• The vendor will be expected to work directly with Division of Tourism research staff in developing and maintaining the integrity of the Economic Impact/Traveler Spending Study.
• The vendor will be required to consider, as appropriate, other research findings of Nevada’s various DMOs.
• The vendor will be expected to provide comparable findings to those of a minimum of the past five (5) years.
• The vendor will be required to provide examples of their current economic impact/traveler spending studies for other Destination Marketing Organizations (DMO).
• The vendor will be expected to document their proposed methodology as part of their proposal, including detail on what data sources are used in their modeling.
