Description
The Army is seeking a college or university laboratory or university-affiliated non-profit to establish an Advanced Manufacturing Applied Research & Technology Development Center. The center will serve as a central hub for advanced manufacturing research, development, and engineering, and will work with the Government, academia, and industry to accelerate the transition of advanced manufacturing research. The center will have core competencies in areas such as advanced manufacturing processes, composite research, and design for advanced manufacturing. The contract will be an indefinite delivery indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contract with a 12-month base period and four 12-month option periods.
Key aspects of the job include:
* Serving as a central hub for advanced manufacturing research, development, and engineering
* Developing foundational tools and common standards for the organic and defense industrial bases
* Facilitating collaboration between government, academia, and industry to integrate advanced manufacturing technologies
* Conducting applied research and development activities to scale up key systems-of-systems technologies
* Managing a large and complex research program with multiple individual research projects
