The United States Marine Corps is conducting market research to identify potential sources for a Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) Reverse Osmosis Water Purification Unit (ROWPU) that can purify over 1,200 gallons of water per hour. The ROWPU will replace the legacy Tactical Water Purification System (TWPS) and is intended to be a critical enabler for expeditionary forces. The system must meet specific performance requirements, including water production rate, energy efficiency, operational attributes, and supportability attributes. Interested vendors are requested to provide detailed responses to a series of questions, including their capability to meet the performance requirements, production time, and cost estimates.
• The system must produce a minimum of 1,000 gallons per hour from a standard seawater source and 1,500 gallons per hour from a brackish/freshwater source.
• The system must consume no more than 30 kilowatts of power.
• The system must be transportable on a single 463L pallet and be internally transportable on C-130 and C-17 aircraft.
• The system must be capable of operating at ambient temperatures from 33°F to 120°F.
• The system must have a Mean Time Between Operational Mission Failure (MTBOMF) of 350 hours and a Mean Time To Repair (MTTR) of 4 hours.
