Description

SEPTA is soliciting a contractor to remove five existing illuminated suspended cabinet signs at the 2nd & 5th Street corridor, install new illuminated signage in their place, and demolish an additional existing illuminated suspended cabinet sign. All electrical connections and the sign substrates will be provided by other parties; the contractor’s scope is limited to demolition and installation of the signage structures. The work must be fully completed by June 15, 2026. This is a small‑scale wayfinding upgrade project focused on sign removal, disposal, and new sign installation. • Demolish 5 existing illuminated suspended cabinet signs and remove associated hardware. • Install new illuminated suspended cabinet signage (materials supplied by others). • Demolish one additional existing illuminated suspended cabinet sign. • Complete all work no later than 06/15/2026, complying with SEPTA safety and site‑access requirements.

Budget estimate

$50,000 – $150,000

The project involves demolition of six illuminated signs and installation of new wayfinding signage, plus associated labor, disposal, and equipment. Small municipal sign projects of this nature typically range from $50,000 to $150,000 depending on sign size, complexity of electrical work, and disposal costs. Assuming moderate sign size and standard labor rates in the Philadelphia area, a realistic estimate would be roughly $80k‑$120k.
