Unified Development Code (UDC) Update

The City of Buda is soliciting proposals from qualified consulting teams to lead a comprehensive update of the City's Unified Development Code (UDC). The purpose of this project is to revise and modernize the UDC to better reflect the City's recently adopted plans and documents. The selected consultant will work collaboratively with City staff, appointed officials, stakeholder groups, and the community to ensure that the UDC update advances Buda's long-term vision for growth, supports high-quality development, and is responsive to evolving community needs and priorities. Key services include: • Conducting a comprehensive review of the current UDC • Developing and implementing a public participation strategy • Updating the UDC to achieve alignment with adopted plans and documents • Ensuring code revisions reflect recommendations on walkability, housing diversity, green infrastructure, and downtown revitalization • Promoting the development of walkable neighborhoods and supporting downtown revitalization and redevelopment • Integrating green infrastructure and sustainable development practices • Strengthening mobility networks and protecting the community's natural resources and open spaces
